Secret Garden, Climate Innovation District, Leeds by White Arkitekter 2016-2026

Solar Avenue, Climate Innovation District, Leeds. This is back behind Secret Garden. The cladding is a mix of four façade finishes distinguish the houses – the most successful being diagonal black slate-like fibre cement tiles. The other façade finishes being a wide grey block, beige horizontal slats, and white horizontal slats. This gave a pleasant variety in the row of houses. Architect: White Arkitekter, 2016-2026

Landing Place, Climate Innovation District, Leeds. This is opposite the Secret Garden and provides 3 bedrooms townhouses,with the kitchen/dining/living space being at the top floor. The cladding appears to some sort of corrugated sheets that I would expect to find on an agricultural building rather than a house but it worked well. Check out the Corten postboxes that add a great texture. Impressed with the lively use of materials. Architect: White Arkitekter / CITU

The Place, Climate Innovation District, Leeds. This is an office space that has been built for sustainability. Was particularly interested in the shou sugi ban cladding that provides great wood preservation. Architect: White Arkitekter / CITU

CITU Footbridge Architect: Gagarin Studio with DP Squared The new footbridge for the Climate Innovation District is on the old Low Fold Mill site, located over the River Aire in Leeds.
